Recently I found myself on youtube searching for something to inspire me and came across a hour long documentary on Sun Ra... I ran across his name in my late teens while searching for every sample used by MADLIB on "The Unseen" released June 13 2000 under the name Quasimoto (MADLIB's alter ego). Played a few cuts, but at the time I didn't UNDERSTAND what I was hearing, so out of ignorance I wrote him off as just another "Jazz Cat". Maybe it was the vibe that night, or maybe Ms. Jane had my mind on stuck from her majestic funk... whatever it was... I began to create.
